Drinking water treatment plant with intake from the river Sava

"Drago Projekt d.o.o." won the tender, in April 2003, to enable the abandoned Water Purification Plant "Prva Iksra Baric", which was intended to supply water to the military complex, directly from the Sava River.

The old plant, which was built in 1971, had a technological error that made it impossible to treat water directly from the Sava River in at the location of the settlement Baric.

After complete technological rehabilitation and automation, lasting 3 months, the plant was put into operation and works flawlessly until today (2023).

The raw water intake facility is located downstream of:

• water discharges from the thermal power plant "Nikola Tesla",
• the polluted Kolubara river flows into the Sava, i
• Obrenovac's sewage overflows into the Sava River.

Raw water parameters are occasionally:

Consumption of KMNo4 - 32 mg/l

(content of branch matter in water)

Turbidity 950 NTU

Flow 50 to 210 l/s

The parameters of clean (drinking) water are occasionally:

Consumption of KMNo4 less than 2 mg/l

  Turbidity less than 0.2 NTU

Flow 40 to 200 l/s

The total exploitation costs are 0.12 EUR/m3 of produced, potable, water
